Situated on Prince St. in SoHo, the restaurant honors its block by reflecting it in its name. But that’s not the only reference here.
Little Prince or Le Petit Prince is also the name of a French book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. And, with more than 140 million copies sold, it happens to be one of the best selling books worldwide.
A French restaurant on Prince St. Quite a play on words if you ask me.
Chef Paul Denamiel (of Le Rivage) did a wonderful job transforming this spot into a quaint French bistro with open air doors – perfect for the Spring that has finally arrived in NYC.
Being that it just recently opened, I am sure the menu will change a bit before it is finalized. However, I was thoroughly impressed by food when I went – on opening day.
While there is no gluten-free menu, Chef Denamiel came out himself to assure me that what I ordered was GF since the waiter did not seem to know at the time.
La nourriture (the food):
While the gluten-filled food looked absolutely phenomenal, I didn’t have too much FOMO (fear of missing out) since my meal happened to be amazing – the salad, chicken & asparagus.
I could probably eat the salad daily and the chicken was perfectly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.
And the last piece of torture I’ll leave you with was dessert:
Yup, sorry about that. Just remember – it’s almost bikini season.
Pros: Immaculate presentation – both the food and the decor. Delicious food.
Cons: Small – get there early! Not a huge selection of GF food (yet at least).
