Sugar Factory

What do you get when you mix watermelon vodka, tropical fruits and Red Bull filled gummie bears? Well, besides a sugar high…a signature cocktail at one of the Meatpacking’s newest spots.

Enter the Sugar Factory; the Las Vegas American brasserie that’s your dentists worst nightmare.

If you’re looking for dessert, candy and anything & everything sweet, then this is your spot.  On the other hand, if you’re anything like me, the aforementioned criteria is not a top priority when dining out.

While my friends went straight to the candy cocktails, I stuck with my vodka soda. As for our meal?

Sounds healthy.

My dull entree. I can’t complain – I did order a salad at a sugar factory.

If I wasn’t gluten-free, I’d go burger or sandwich all the way.

As for the other gluten-free options?  Mostly everything on the menu is fried or contains bread. Keep it safe and order one of the salads, all of which are GF except the Chinese chicken and sans croutons in the caesar. The grill menu has some options as well; steak, chicken paillard & salmon.

Breakfast is slightly easier; go with the eggs and salvate at your friends waffles & pancakes. Desserts/cocktails are a whole other story that the waitress clearly wasn’t looking to get into. Eat/drink at your own risk.

I decided I deserved a small splurge on something sweet since this probably the last time I’d be eating here. While the $99 world famous king kong sundae sounded amazing, we kept it simple with some fondue:

The marshmallows and fruit was gluten-free. Delicious, clearly.

Rating: C
Pros: A sweet tooth’s heaven.
Cons: You’ll need a tranquilizer to calm your kids down after they eat here.
