When traveling, it’s good to have a local with you that knows the turf and the ins and outs of where to eat and where to stay away from. Our lovely Chicago host brought us to Meli Cafe for breakfast before we hit the tarmac and headed back to the greatest city in the world (nyc that is). Tavern on Rush

  Situated amongst the plethora of restaurants in Viagra triangle (yes this is a real thing), it is hard to miss Tavern on Rush.   The restaurant’s outdoor tables were bustling with boisterous families, children and people eating breakfast before hitting up Lollapalooza for the day; which was exactly what we were doing.   On a Sunday afternoon with a party of 10, I was sure we would be waiting forever to sit. Lollapalooza ’12

On August 2nd I hopped on my first (and last) Spirit Airlines flight to Chicago O’Hare in anticipation of a wonderful weekend of music, food, friends and partying, also known as Lollapalooza. Having been there the year before and knowing that they only serve beer and wine to the general admission attendees, I prepared an alternate game plan known as: capture the vodka… …which basically was having my friends with VIP bracelets snag me some vodka/sodas from the bar area. I am an avid traveler and love seeing new places, but always happily return home to the greatest city in the world (yes that would be NYC). My latest escapade landed me in the windy city, aka Chicago. I don’t really consider this a city. It seems to clean to me. More like a larger version of Hoboken. For a light din before hitting the bars, my friends and I went to Mercadito. The name might sound familiar since this is one of 4 locations, 2 of which are in NYC (Ave A & W. Village).
